5 Under-Rated Disneyland Attractions You Don’t Want To Miss

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

Today I was thinking about what attractions I did not do during my girls’ trip to Disneyland, which made me think of this post. So I thought this might be a good time to bring it back…. Enjoy

On our recent trip to Disneyland, I had a goal to do some of the attractions that we often pass by. I didn’t get it all in, but I did do several of the items we haven’t done before. We just ran out of time. (That is right, we ran out of time. See how many days to spend at Disneyland here.)
I have realized though, that some of the attractions at the Disneyland resort just do not get the credit they deserve. So here are my Top 5 Under-Rated Disneyland Attractions.

Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer’s Island

This attraction is one a lot of people often pass by. Not always on purpose. It looks like something that might just be there “for looks” or for it’s use in Fantasmic. The loading area for the Ferries is often passed by as well.

This attraction is definitely worth the visit though. Especially if you have young ones that need to get some energy out. There is so much to explore on this island, and you can even find some treasure here. The only downside is some of the stairs are steep and the caves/stair wells can be small.

Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes

These Canoes are great for an upper body workout that is for sure. Many people do not see the point in this attraction, but there are some hidden sites you get to see only from these canoes. The Canoes are open different hours depending on the season, so check with Guest Relations to see if they are going to be operating during your visit.

The Mark Twain Riverboat

This is a fun little attraction that is very relaxing. Something you may not have known is that you can ask to steer the Mark Twain River Boat. While riding this vessel, take note that Walt Disney himself named the Riverboat after one of his heroes and that it is an original 1955 Disneyland attraction. (According to Disneyland.com)

The Goof with his Pilot’s License after steering the Mark Twain Riverboat

If you are lucky, a Cast Member may choose you and your family to steer the Mark Twain. It used to be you could ask about it, but now they will not let you ask, and if you ask, they won’t choose you. (Which is sad in my opinion as some kids this is totally their dream.)

Main Street Cinema

This should be a super popular attraction. After all, this is the cartoon that started it all right? Sit down and watch Steamboat Willie and enjoy the cool air conditioning for a bit.

The Disneyland Railroad

This is a fun way to get around the park. We love riding the railroad.  If you ride the train between Tomorrowland and Main Street, you may get an extra special treat… a prehistoric one.

I could probably go on and on about attractions that get overlooked, but these 5 are ones I think everyone should do at least once. Do you have an attraction you think is under-rated that you just love? Share it in the comments section.
