You guys Disney makes me do some crazy things. Like start a blog. Or learn how to use Hotwire hot rates like a pro (I can almost always figure out what hotel I am getting before I book). But about six weeks ago, Disney made me do the craziest thing yet. Well, Disney and chance. What has Disney got me to do this time? You guys Disney has gotten me to start training for a runDisney event.
See, a local gal was injured and can no longer run, so she was selling her treadmill for an amazing price. I had been wanting to get a treadmill anyways to walk while the kids play and hopefully loose some weight. I am pooh-sized and would like to be a little less so, and figured, I could always just walk while the twins play in the mornings. They are getting old enough I don’t have to help entertain them constantly.
Well, when I hopped on the first time, I got this crazy thought. Why don’t I start training for a runDisney event. I was partially inspired by some other plus-size mamas I know that have done events, and partially probably just trying to find reasons to plan more Disney vacations. What ever it was, I started training that day. And you know what, I have kept it up. I just completed week 4 (I had a nasty cold and then my husband was in the hospital for a week, so I took 2 weeks off).
I have done couch to 5k in the past, but normally give up the running part for just power walking by middle of week 2. I am now done with week 4 and still at it. I won’t lie. There have been days I really didn’t want to do it. But I did it. And now, I kind of look forward to getting on the treadmill.
So, I haven’t picked a runDisney event yet. It will have to be at Disneyland and in 2018 (if they have any there next year). Right now I am thinking of doing The Light Side (Star Wars) race, but then I kind of want to do Tink. So this is where I need your help. If you have done ei (ther, which one would you do? Or even if you have just looked at the races and have always wanted to do one of them, let me know.
I haven’t decided if I will do the 5k, or end up training for the 10k. It will probably depend on which race I choose and how this winter goes.
So has Disney made you do crazy things in the past? What is the craziest thing Disney has made you do?
