I am always looking to have some great snacks on hand that my family will love. Bonus if they are at least some what healthy! Double bonus if they are something The Goof can help me make (Here is a picture from making this batch on instagram). So I absolutely LOVE making granola bars.
These are so simple and involve no baking so even kids can make them… okay, well, you do want to toast the oats, but that is at a low heat and something you can do and then your kids can take over if you want.
We used dried fruit in these granola bars but you can put anything you want in them. We have done Mini-chocolate chips and marshmallows (for s’mores flavored) , peanut butter chips, nuts, and more. It is so much fun to try out new ingredients.
In this recipe I did use Light Corn Syrup because we wanted to take these on an outing. You can substitute honey (what we normally use), but if you have them out in the sun they can get a little soft and sticky.
If you try the recipe let me know what you think.
