The first year the Goof was in preschool, I thought I would be that super cool Pinterest mom. You know, the one who made a robot out of multiple snack foods and drinks for each kid when they had snack time. Yeah, that lasted until about Halloween.
Not sure if it was because I am just not cut out for the whole make a million items by hand thing, or if it was because I was pregnant with twins, but I decided it just wasn’t my parenting style. But that didn’t mean I had to send in the boring snacks, right?
The Goof’s second year of preschool I was in charge of the “snack” for their Halloween party and I came up with a super simple, but totally fun idea that was a complete hit. Ever since then, this kind of snack and activity has been my go to when I am in charge of snacks for school, playgroup, church, or it is even great for a birthday party.
This was seriously the best Halloween snack idea and it came with a little activity for the kids to do while eating.
All I did was simply print some fun Halloween themed pictures (I have a set of 4 on a sheet of paper that you can print out for free down below).
After printing them out, I cut the four pictures out and then laminated them so they could easily be wiped clean. Print out enough for each kid to have one or two pictures.
The pictures will be used as templates for the kids to use snack foods to make their own design.
Now all you need to do is pick up some snack foods. I personally like to use Welch’s Fruit Snacks.
My entire family (including my husband) loves Welch’s Fruit Snacks. I personally love that real fruit is the first ingredient. But the best is that they are individually packaged, so they are easy to hand out for snack time or even for trick or treating. It is super convenient for busy moms. And I don’t know about you, but life just keeps getting more and more hectic, so it is nice to just grab something and be good to go. (Hence why I came up with this type of Halloween snack and activity.)
Once you have handed out the pictures and the Welch’s Fruit Snacks simply have the kids use the snacks to make their Halloween themed pictures come to life.
After they make their ghoulish art, they are free to eat their snacks. Super simple right? What could make it better?
How about a great deal on Welch’s Fruit Snacks? I already feel that they are a great deal, but you can visit the Welch’s page to grab a coupon to get an even better deal. Convenient and budget friendly? Yes, please!
